It's official, Liverpool have their own Lamine Yamal
Liverpool have an incredibly exciting young winger, who is their own Lamine Yamal.
When the Barcelona winger emerged on the scene it was like a star had been born. Yamal came from playing youth football to dominating on one of the biggest stages on the planet at Euro 2024.
He was instantly catapulted into stardom and heralded as the second coming of Lionel Messi. It's scary to think that at just 19-years-old, he is already a European and World Champion at international level.
Who knows what Yamal will achieve in the coming years. One thing is clear - he will be the star competing for those big personal accolades like the Ballon d'Or very soon.
Forget about Kylian Mbappe, Yamal will be taking the throne as the next best player on the planet.
Liverpool building a golden generation
But if Liverpool are able to fulfil their ambitions, Yamal might have a few worthy contenders in his quest to become the world's best.
The truth is that for the last few years Liverpool have been cleverly rebuilding behind the scenes.
There's been a lot of criticism about the squad Richard Hughes built being imbalanced. But the truth is that Liverpool are not merely thinking about the short-term.
The club has a far bigger picture in mind. They know that Rome was not built in a day and therefore they themselves cannot build another golden generation in a few transfer windows.
But the foundations are there. Jeremy Jacquet, Dominik Szoboszlai, Florian Wirtz, Bradley Barcola, Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak all have what it takes to be the world's best.
Meet Liverpool's own Lamine Yamal
And then there is Rio Ngumoha. This kid, who was already training with Chelsea's first-team at 15-years-old. Who has broken so many records at Anfield, and who is now taking the limelight for his performances for the Reds and England.
At 18-years-old, Ngumoha may not yet bet at the same level as Yamal. However, development is not linear.
Liverpool have managed Ngumoha's minutes carefully. They've allowed him to develop and grow into his body and have been very calculated in how and when to expose him.
Now, he's finally getting that exposure and he is running havoc in the Champions League. Physically he looks much stronger than a normal 18-year-old.
And his dribbling is out of this world. Villareal could not contain him. Neither could LASK.
With the way he is playing, one day he has everything to become an even better player than Yamal.
