Ibrahima Konate injury: EVERY Liverpool match he's now set to miss
Ibrahima Konate will now miss a chunk of Liverpool's season after picking up an injury this week. Here's what he'll reportedly miss.
DaveOCKOP reports that Ibrahima Konate will now miss five to six weeks after picking up an injury against Real Madrid. The Frenchman hobbled off after the 2-0 win over Real Madrid.
EXCLUSIVE: Virgil van Dijk is STAYING at Liverpool
It wasn't immediately clear that there was a serious problem but Arne Slot wouldn't confirm anything in his press conference on Thursday. Now it appears Konate is out for some time.
And Liverpool really only have one person to blame.
Now, Konate will certainly miss the clash with Manchester City on Sunday and it doesn't get much bigger than that. But he'll also miss the Christmas period - one that will naturally put a lot of strain on the Reds' squad anyway.
So which fixtures will he miss? Here's what to expect if the 'five to six weeks' claim is accurate.
The Ibrahima Konate injury loss
In all Konate is expected to miss 10 games if he indeed does miss six weeks. That would take us to the 10th of January (again, if we're going six weeks from this news being reported).
Liverpool vs Manchester City (Premier League) - 1st December
Newcastle United vs Liverpool (Premier League) - 4th December
Everton vs Liverpool (Premier League) - 7th December
Girona vs Liverpool (UEFA Champions League) - 10th December
Liverpool vs Fulham (Premier League) - 14th December
Southampton vs Liverpool (EFL Cup) - 18th December
Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool (Premier League) - 22nd December
Liverpool vs Leicester City (Premier League) - 26th December
West Ham United vs Liverpool (Premier League) - 29th December
Liverpool vs Manchester United (Premier League) - 5th January
There will also be doubt over Konate's ability to play in the FA Cup Third Round, set to happen around the 11th of January. Though, depending on the draw, we think it's unlikely he'd have played anyway.
But those are some of the biggest games all season. City at home, the derby at Goodison Park (the final derby at Goodison, in fact), and Man United coming to Anfield.
A massive, massive loss for Liverpool here. Hopefully, he heals up rapidly and ahead of schedule.
