He's here, the Nigerian Dominik Szoboszlai is special and Liverpool need to sign him

What we would do if only we had more Dominik Szoboszlais in the team right now.

The Hungarian has probably been the only redeemable part of this Liverpool side. He actually plays with intensity and passion, which cannot be said for most of the club's other stars.

Szoboszlai has stepped-up time and time again. He's delivered extremely important performances and he continues to dominate the midfield.

When he doesn't play in midfield, he's quality. Liverpool have had a shortage of right-backs this season and Szoboszlai has stepped up.

He's put in solid performances time and time again in that position. Proving that there is no place where he cannot be deployed.

Rightfully, he's already won five Player of the Month awards, and will probably claim the accolade for April and May as well.

Years ago, Anfield echoed with calls for a team full of Carraghers. Today, that sentiment could easily be updated to reflect a desire for a team full of Szoboszlais.

Michael Edwards, who is now working under FSG as the CEO of Football Operations, has been under fire recently. He looks like he won't be getting his multi-club model in place with the club's owners having reservations about buying a second club.

On top of this, Edwards oversaw the £450m investment which has mounted to little success so far. It's important to highlight those two words because signings take time to settle. Edwards' judgement alongside Richard Hughes and the club's recruitment team may yet prove prudent.

As well as making moves to sign top players, Liverpool have increased their investment into talent as well. In charge of this move has been to appoint Matt Newberry as Director of Global Talent, meanwhile Julian Ward has also worked closely in conducting deals for younger players.

Liverpool's recruitment has seen them bring in the likes of Armin Pecsi, Will Wright, Ifeanyi Ndukwe, Mor Talla Ndiaye and agreeing a pre-transfer for Sidy Barhama Ndiaye.

Now the club's next transfer should take them to Nigeria.

Because playing for Broad City FC in Nigeria there's an exciting young player who has arrived on the scene, and who could be the African Szoboszlai.

He is 17-year-old Hanif Sanusi. A midfielder who has 14 goals and 10 assists in 23 matches this season. Sanusi has scored four goals from set-pieces this season and has six goals from outside the box.

He is a massive threat with his corner deliveries and in this way he's already very similar to the Liverpool midfielder.

But there's more to the Szoboszlai comparisons than just an outstanding right-foot. Sanusi is also a typical no.10 who can drop deeper and play as a no.8 or even be deployed on the flanks as an inside winger or left or right midfielder.

He has an excellent first touch, will regularly look to break lines and create chances and he's very good at finding himself in pockets of space.

On top of that, he works tirelessly. He runs a lot and covers a large amount of distances every time he plays. It's because of his work-rate and energy that he is such an important player for his side.

At just 17-years-old, the sky is the limit for the young man. He's not eligible to make the move to Europe until this time next year but Edwards and his team should be working hard to bring him to Liverpool.

He's exactly what Liverpool look for in a young player.
