He's coming to Liverpool, unexpected person confirms move for superstar

A superstar is coming to Liverpool and it's been confirmed by an unexpected person.

What an utter mess of a window this has been for Richard Hughes and his recruitment team. They have been messed around all summer failing to recruit one target after another and being unable to hide their desperation to sign a right-winger.

It has led to extortion prices being quoted for their primary targets like £80m for Yankuba Minteh and who knows how much Crystal Palace will be demanding for Ismaïla Sarr.

Not to mention Liverpool were embarrassed in the Ibrahim Mbaye saga, being quoted £10m or so more by PSG than what they ultimately sold him for to Aston Villa.

But let's be honest, Liverpool should not even be in this position in the first place.

They knew about Mo Salah leaving the club in January.

Okay, sure they didn't get their first target. What went down with Yan Diomande was unfortunate as it's quite clear his agent played Liverpool and probably had not intention of signing for the Reds.

But Liverpool should have lined up alternatives and had a shortlist prepared. They should not be chasing and desperately trying to bring in a replacement with a few days left of the transfer window.

At this point no matter what happens Liverpool are going to have to overpay. That's the reality of the situation. The players they want, their clubs are not desperate to sell them and they will be demanding huge fees.

Liverpool thought they could leverage their position but they've just been acting in a really incompetent way.

If they wanted Minteh as the alternative to Diomande, they should have been negotiating with Brighton since they missed out on Diomande which was back in July.

If they wanted Sarr, they should not have been bidding for him with just a few days left of the window.

All of this just screams of a board who doesn't really know what they want and are acting impulsively without a clear direction and plan.

It's the opposite of what Liverpool have become to be known for.

Now the club is known to pay massive fees, overpaying for players and being outmanoeuvred in the market. Instead of being a step ahead, Liverpool are now a step behind.

To make things slightly better, Liverpool are at least getting on signing done.

After they've been negotiating to sign him all summer, Bradley Barcola is going to be coming to Liverpool. The Reds have agreed a £123m fee for his services which makes the Frenchman the second most expensive transfer of all time in the Premier League - behind Alexander Isak.

Now he's going to be heading to Anfield very soon, and while we have not had an official confirmation of the agreement from the club, an unexpected person has now confirmed and seemingly broken the news.

The Anfield Talk spotted a story of Bradley Barcola's barber on Instagram which the barber captioned: 'Last cut for Barcola before Liverpool.'

And while it's an unexpected person to confirm the news, if that doesn't confirm it, we don't know what does.

Barcola is going to be a Liverpool player. It has taken a long time but there is at least some positive to take from this window.
