Liverpool are expected to complete a massive, potentially record-breaking deal in the coming days. What a move this is.

Liverpool are running out of time to do it but they simply have to get something special over the line. The Reds are coming off a poor season, after all, but have actually made the squad worse going forward.

Mohamed Salah is out, taking 12 goals and assists with him. They've brought in Victor Munoz, of course, but reaching those numbers would be a personal best for him - and still only get Liverpool back to where they were.

What's important, then, is finding a winger who can deliver elite numbers and Liverpool do feel they've found one in Bradley Barcola. The question has always been whether they can agree on terms with Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG want enormous money for the winger, even if they're open to selling. Liverpool want to pay as little as possible, of course, but know they'll be into nine figures when it's all said and done.

Journalist Fabrice Hawkins claims it almost certainly will be done, too. He told l'After Foot that all parties to expect a deal will be agreed over the coming days.

“Bradley Barcola wants to join Liverpool," said Hawkins. "PSG were informed earlier of his desire and it was accepted.

"There’s no intention to keep Bradley Barcola. The sticking point has been the valuation, where they started at €170m. Liverpool have made different verbal offers.

"They’ve made offers since the verbal one, but there hasn’t been a written offer yet because, at this level, I think the next written offer will be the one that gets it done.

"We’ve understood that it would be somewhere between €130m and €150m, but in any case, it won’t be below €120m for Bradley Barcola. Everyone involved in this deal thinks there will be an agreement.”

That's all very positive, then. Liverpool are all-in on Barcola and essentially have to get this one done - there is no alternative and entering the season without a new attacking option would feel like a disaster.

So let's see what happens. It sounds, though, like it will ultimately be good news.
