Fabrizio Romano has confirmed another superstar wants to join Liverpool.

Let's be honest, it's been a surprisingly quiet summer for Liverpool.

After everything that happened last season, most supporters expected another busy transfer window. Instead, the Reds have taken a much more cautious approach, leaving plenty of fans wondering when the club is finally going to step on the accelerator.

That said, there are a few good reasons why things have moved so slowly.

For starters, Liverpool have gone through huge changes behind the scenes. Andoni Iraola has arrived as the club's new head coach, and with him comes a completely different way of playing. Whenever a new manager comes in, recruitment becomes more complicated because the club has to identify players who fit the new system rather than simply adding the best talent available.

Then there's everything happening off the pitch. Michael Edwards has stepped away from his role, while Richard Hughes is also preparing to leave. When there is that much change at executive level, transfers naturally become more difficult.

Recruitment isn't just about agreeing a fee with another club - there are long-term plans, budgets and squad decisions that all have to be aligned.

The World Cup hasn't helped either.

International tournaments almost always slow the transfer market down. Players are focused on representing their countries, clubs don't want to lose valuable assets in the middle of a tournament, and many are happy to wait in the hope that strong performances will increase a player's value.

Liverpool were then dealt another setback when Yan Diomande, the club's preferred option to strengthen the attack, decided he wanted to join Paris Saint-Germain instead. Missing out on your first-choice target is frustrating at the best of times, especially when there aren't many players with a similar profile available on the market.

Now that the World Cup is over, though, the excuses are starting to disappear.

Liverpool still have plenty of work to do before the window closes. Several positions need strengthening, Andoni Iraola needs players who suit his style, and the squad still feels short in a number of key areas.

The pressure is now on. Liverpool have the foundations of a strong project, but the next few weeks could determine whether this transfer window is remembered as a slow start or a missed opportunity.

But it's not all doom and gloom. Aside from Diomande, most of the time the hottest players on the market and the biggest superstars always want to join Liverpool.

Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez were proof of that last summer.

And now according to Fabrizio Romano there's another superstar who also wants to link-up with Liverpool.

Bradley Barcola has won multiple Champions League trophies at the age of just 24-years-old. He's made 76 goal contributions for PSG in just 99.93 90 minutes spent on the pitch, averaging a goal or assist 0.76 times per 90 minutes.

There are very few attackers in world football capable of producing those numbers and now when Liverpool need an attacker, and Barcola is sought after by the likes of Arsenal and Bayer Munich, who does the Frenchman want to join?

Liverpool.

Speaking on Barcola's desires, Romano said on YouTube that the PSG winger wants to join Liverpool and sees the Reds as the perfect club for him.

Now, again. This is the kind of wording we heard all of last summer. And this summer around once again ANOTHER superstar wants to join Liverpool as confirmed by Romano himself.

Whether the Reds can get the deal over the line is still a big question.
