Exclusive: Liverpool continue to scout striker, he's scored again
Liverpool are continuing to scout and watch one of the best young strikers in Europe. He's only gone and scored again.
Anfield Watch understands that Liverpool are carefully watching Paris Brunner. The AS Monaco striker has come alive this season and the Reds want to make sure they're near the front of the queue.
Brunner had a difficult campaign in 2025/26, only appearing in seven fixtures for his side. No goals came with those appearances, which was a disappointment after his solid time with Cercle Brugge the season before.
But Filipe Luis has gone with Brunner from the get-go. The 20-year-old has started five times in Ligue 1 already this season and his run is bringing an awful lot of goals.
Paris Brunner is thriving
Brunner scored again for Monaco on Friday evening. They beat RC Lens to go top of Ligue 1 - though, Lille and Rennes could both leapfrog them by the end of the weekend.
But this is a Monaco side struggling financially. The fact Luis has put faith in Brunner is a sign of that and now the German is repaying that faith incredibly well.
Friday’s goal was his fourth of the Ligue 1 season already, coming in five matches. In all competitions it’s six goals in seven games for Brunner after his two in the UEFA Conference League.
The 20-year-old is thriving and driving Monaco forward. His six-goal haul is the most by any Monaco striker at this stage since Radamel Falcao in 2017 - a campaign that ended with him scoring 24 times.
Similar number for Brunner would drive his price sky-high, of course, and there’s a long way to go this season. Liverpool, though, will watch the 20-year-old closely.
Exactly what that means for their current pair of strikers is entirely unclear. Brunner may well be the kind of talent you don’t want to miss out on, though.
