European giants attempt last-minute hijack for Liverpool legend, his agent has reached out

Liverpool have already cleared out a lot of their squad this summer.

The Anfield outfit were destined to have a bit of a re-jig before the 2026-27 season fully kicked off but, nobody could have expected three of their first-team regulars to have already packed their bags and exited.

This had led to the Reds severely lacking depth among their ranks with the club just one injury crisis away from being in a worse position than they were last term.

The worst thing about the exits of Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson is that none of them earned Liverpool any money as they all left as free agents with Salah even terminating his deal to get away from L4.

Konate and Robertson have both already sorted their next destinations out but, the Egyptian King's future still isn't decided.

There are obviously ideas of where the attacker could go but, at the moment, anything is possible.

And the mantra of anything being possible is certainly something that Galatasaray seem to be living by.

Over the last week or so, Besiktas have emerged as the favourites to sign Salah but, after his agent u-turned on the deal and decided to demand more money, that move could now be up in smoke.

Rumours of a transfer to the MLS and Saudi Pro League have all emerged ever since Salah announced that he would be exiting Liverpool but, it now seems like Galatasaray want in on the action.

That is, if a report from Turkish outlet Fanatik is to be believed.

"A significant development has occurred regarding Mohamed Salah, whose contract with Liverpool has expired and who will be leaving the club," they wrote.

"While recently linked with Beşiktaş, it has been learned that Galatasaray is also interested in signing him.

"According to Emre Günayı's report in Fanatik; Galatasaray is considering competing with Beşiktaş in the final hours to sign him. The yellow-red team has already received information from the player's agent, Rami Abbas."

Mohamed Salah must decide whether he wants a huge final pay day or not

Since a return to Liverpool is more of a fantasy than reality, Salah is more than likely going to be playing for another team during the 2026-27 season.

The 33-year-old may not have been in the best run of form for Liverpool last term but, the fact that he still contributed to 22 goals across all competitions proves how good he still is.

However, since he is in the twilight stages of his career, this is probably going to be his last-ever chance at getting a huge payday from the Saudi Pro League or the MLS.

But, if he wants to prove that he can still compete with the best teams in the world, Galatasaray would certainly be the best way for him to do that, especially since they made it out of the league stage of the Champions League last term.

He'd be able to form a dynamic partnership with Victor Osimhen and would be hailed as a god in Turkey but, his salary will almost certainly be less than it would be if he chose to join a Saudi Pro League or MLS club instead.

So, at the end of the day, it's up to Salah and what he wants the most out of his next move.

There's obviously no knowing what the future has in store for the Egyptian King but, with so many clubs vying for his transfer, he's certainly not going to be short of options.
