€100m star wants to exit Liverpool, he doesn't see a future at Anfield

Liverpool still have a lot of change likely to come their way this summer.

Their 2025-26 season was a travesty with the club only just managing to qualify for the Champions League.

Indeed, a lot of this was due to the way that Arne Slot lined his men up but, the Reds' first-team squad should have still done a lot better than they did.

Their lack of form has caused their fans to demand that new players are brought in with several areas of their squad needing upgrades.

However, in order for these new additions to get brought in, some of the Reds' first-team squad may have to be moved on.

And, now that the 2026 World Cup is finished, it feels like rumours about the future of some Liverpool players are already starting to emerge.

Alexis Mac Allister doesn't see a future for himself at Liverpool

One of Liverpool's worst-performing players last season was Alexis Mac Allister.

The Argentinian failed to meet the standards expected of him and let Arne Slot down on multiple occasions.

This led to fans demanding that he gets dropped with some even asking for him to be sold.

And, even though he was arguably one of Argentina's best performers during the 2026 World Cup, his future is still unclear with Defensa Central now sharing an update on the midfielders future.

"The latest player to be offered is Alexis Mac Allister. He has a contract with Liverpool until June 2028 and the player believes his time in England is over," journalist Latigo Serrano told Defensa Central.

"Liverpool would accept a transfer fee of 100 million euros.

"He's a player very much in Mourinho's mould. He's physical, gets forward into the opposition's box, and the manager knows him perfectly. Furthermore, he would be a player who could make an immediate impact."

Even though he rarely played well for Slot last term, the Dutchman still chose Mac Allister to be one of his most trusted players.

The Argentinian was often one of the first names on his team sheet with others such as Curtis Jones missing out on gametime.

And, before Slot was relieved of his duties, it felt almost guaranteed that Jones would be exiting Anfield this summer.

But, now that Iraola is in charge, it feels like the Englishman's playing style fits perfectly with the Spaniard's.

So, even though Inter Milan and Nottingham Forest both want to sign him, it feels like it would be a massive mistake for Liverpool to move him on, especially since he'd be sold for a cut-rate fee due to his contract expiring in June 2027.

Considering the form that Macca was in last term, the Reds getting anywhere near €100 million (£84.9 million) would be unreal.

It would allow them to spend an awful lot more money in the market as it would offset most of the business that they want to do.

So, if Liverpool can talk Real Madrid up to the €100 million mark, they should definitely accept it.
