Door opens for sensational Jarrod Bowen Liverpool deal

The time for Liverpool to move on from Mohamed Salah is approaching fast.

The Egyptian King has been at Anfield since 2017 - winning all there is to win in the club game since then. Salah has racked up plenty of individual honours too - and is still the reigning Premier League player of the year.

But things haven’t gone to plan for the 33-year-old ever since signing his new two-year contract extension last April. The club have now agreed to terminate Salah’s £400k per week agreement - leaving him free to decide his next move.

Focus on Merseyside is now on which player can come into the club and replace Salah.

Jarrod Bowen discussed as Salah replacement

Among the options discussed has been Jarrod Bowen.

The West Ham winger, 29, is expected to leave the East London club if they are relegated. That is an increasingly likely scenario following the Hammers’ 3-0 defeat to Brentford last weekend coupled with Tottenham’s win over Aston Villa.

talkSPORT claims that Bowen will not push for a move if the Irons stay in the Premier League - but adds that Liverpool will be right there for his signature if the worst comes to pass.

“Fan favourite Bowen is sure to be in high demand if the East Enders are relegated to the Championship,” the report reads.

“Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the England ace while Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is known to be a long-time admirer.”

Bowen deal can happen if West Ham go down

Bowen is under contract at the London Stadium until 2030 and has been a consistent performer since joining from Hull City in 2020.

This season he’s got eight goals and 10 assists in a poorly-performing side and would be a sensible pick-up for the Reds.

An established England international - with bags of Premier League experience - Bowen could be the ideal solution as a ready-made Salah replacement.

Let’s keep an eye on this one because if West Ham go down then it is certainly a goer - and would be a much cheaper deal than Bradley Barcola or Yan Diomande.
