Liverpool have signed one of the best players in the country in their age-group.

That is why the club cannot afford to simply assume the succession plan is already complete. Mamardashvili has all the potential to become Liverpool's next great goalkeeper, but potential and reality are two very different things. Becoming the No.1 at Anfield comes with enormous pressure, especially at a club expected to compete for every major trophy.

Liverpool will eventually have an important decision to make. Do they fully trust Mamardashvili to step into Alisson's shoes, or do they bring in further competition to ensure Iraola has two elite options fighting for the position?

Either way, replacing Alisson will be one of the biggest challenges of Liverpool's next era.

Rather than placing all of the responsibility on one young goalkeeper, they look set to reinforce the position and ensure the standards remain as high as ever when the time eventually comes to replace Alisson.

He has made great strides in his first season and will now be expected to depart on loan.

Pecsi is seen as a future heir to Alisson's throne when he departs in the summer of 2027. But he isn't alone.
