The value of Curtis Jones shoots through the roof after Real Madrid express interest in yet another Liverpool star.

Curtis Jones currently looks like leaving Liverpool this summer. The Scouser will enter the final year of his contract and nearly joined Inter back in January.

Now, we're not in favour of this. Jones shouldn't be going anywhere, quite honestly, especially for the €30m touted.

Jones is a boyhood Liverpool fan who does want to stay. He just also wants to play regular football in his preferred position - something Arne Slot wasn't willing to give him.

That may change with a new coach. It really should change, though we'll have to see what the incoming boss wants to do.

But Jones's value as an extremely talented homegrown player carries extra value in that he desperately wants to be a star for Liverpool. That's something the club is starting to lose out on as players flock elsewhere.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (another who, admittedly, once fit the same bill) ditched Anfield for Real Madrid. Ibrahima Konate is about to do the same.

El Desmarque suggests that Alexis Mac Allister - someone who has two years left on his contract but no talks with Liverpool - is now also a target for Real Madrid. The suggestion is that he would move there and finding an agreement with the Reds is the important bit.

Real Madrid also target Dominik Szoboszlai and who knows if they'll stop there? The point is that players are willing to leave Liverpool for Los Blancos and regularly at that.

Someone like Jones is a player you build your midfield around. A long-term player who can help form a core for a long time to come. That carries incredible value - a value that Liverpool quite clearly aren't recognising.

Curtis Jones: Situation Summary

Liverpool Campaign and Stats

As of 3 June 2026, Curtis Jones has concluded a mixed domestic campaign with Liverpool. The 25-year-old English midfielder featured regularly across a demanding season, logging substantial minutes and maintaining an exceptionally high passing accuracy. He capped off his club campaign by scoring the opening goal in a –1 draw against Brentford at Anfield on 24 May. Despite his consistency in the engine room, Jones suffered individual disappointment after ultimately missing out on a place in England's final squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

Transfer Negotiations and Inter Interest

With his contract entering its final year and the player seeking guaranteed first-team football to boost his international prospects, a summer departure is looking increasingly likely. Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Inter Milan have opened advanced negotiations with Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes over a deal. While Turkish champions Galatasaray have also joined the race, Inter remain the frontrunners to secure his signature.
