Champions League winners are getting 'ready' to sign Liverpool star

Liverpool have had a lot of changes happen at Anfield over the last couple of years.

They've spent over £600 million on new players and, while they've managed to raise a hefty chunk of change in sales, it still feels like more needs to be done.

That is, especially if Liverpool are wanting to start challenging for silverware again.

Indeed, at the moment, the Anfield outfit are unbeaten across all competitions but, when their toughest opponents have been Atletico Madrid, you'd have expected nothing less from Andoni Iraola's men.

Several members of Liverpool's first-team squad have continued to underperform since the start of the current season so, the fact that some are already being linked with an exit is hardly surprising.

Bayern Munich have been told that they need to be 'ready' to sign Florian Wirtz this summer

Florian Wirtz is arguably one of Liverpool's players who's underperformed the most.

The German was brought in last summer to try and fill the creative void left by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

And, with his 31 goal contributions from the 2024-25 season, most people thought that his transition to the Premier League from the Bundesliga would be seamless.

Obviously, that hasn't been the case with fans questioning whether the attacking midfielder was even worth the Reds spending £116 million on.

At the moment, it really doesn't feel like he was but, that hasn't stopped German outlet Bild from linking the 23-year-old with a move to Bayern Munich.

"The first attempt at a transfer failed despite strong intervention from Hoeneß. According to Klopp, Wirtz moved to Liverpool in 2025 at "the worst possible moment"- a time of uncertainty following the death of Diogo Jota," they wrote.

"But: If things don't work out with Wirtz in the second season either, Bayern should be ready. Especially since nobody knows if Olise can be kept for another year. The taciturn superstar certainly hasn't revealed that to anyone yet.

"A lot still needs to happen to ensure that Bayern Munich don't experience the "Finale dahoam" in 2028 from the stands again."

Now that Alexander Isak seems to be back to his best, or, is getting there at least, there are no excuses for Wirtz to not do welll.

One of the main things that the German was brought in for was to create and score chances.

If he can't manage to do this, then he's fairly useless as a number 10.

Indeed, he does already have an assist to his name but, with how well Isak and Cody Gakpo have been performing, you'd have thought that Wirtz's return would've been better.

Obviously, we're still early into the campaign so things can change but, if he doesn't manage to improve his form and get back to his best, there's no reason why Liverpool wouldn't look to sell him.

That is, especially since Michael Olise is still one of their top targets.
