Brilliant news, International striker signs Liverpool contract

An international striker has reportedly signed his new Liverpool contract. It should be formalised shortly.

Liverpool are busy sorting out their squad ahead of next season and, importantly, ahead of major business in the summer transfer window. That means figuring out who will actually be at the club.

Some serious clues were given last week with Liverpool’s retained list. The Reds confirmed who had received contract offers and who would be off - including Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson.

One particularly interesting name on the list is Keyrol Figueroa. The striker hasn’t actually made his Liverpool debut yet and at 19, it was expected that he’d be off.

Figueroa is a fantastic talent and one many clubs would love to have. There’s been interest from MLS, for one, as well as Championship clubs.

And yet, Liverpool made an offer. Deportes TVC reports that Figueroa has now signed that contract, too. He’s willing to commit to the Reds long-term, even if it’s expected that he’ll immediately head out on loan.

The deal isn’t entirely sealed yet, though. Liverpool still need to formalise things and get it all signed on their end.

But Figueroa will remain a Red. It’ll be interesting to see how things develop from here.
