Deal announced, Liverpool have their new Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool have their new Trent Alexander-Arnold as an agreement has been struck.

What a sad end it was for the Reds and their former no.66. Alexander-Arnold was one of Liverpool's very own. He was adored on the terraces of the Kop.

He was someone who was on his way to becoming a Liverpool captain and putting his name down as one of the most legendary players to every play for the club.

Trent had everything to become this generation's Steven Gerrard. He was world-class and he made Liverpool a brilliant side.

But in the end, he will go down in infamy. He's not a player who will be remembered as a legend but one who left and abandoned the ship like a coward and in the process broke every Liverpool fans' heart.

Liverpool's struggles to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold

Life without him hasn't been easy. The right-back position seemed decided, with Connor Bradley being seemingly ready to step-up into Alexander-Arnold's shoes.

However, injuries have halted Bradley's progress. He's no been out for a considerable amount of time and it not expected to be back any time soon.

Jeremie Frimpong was the player who 'replaced' Trent in the squad but it's becoming very apparent he is not considered a serious option for the right-back role.

Dominik Szoboszlai has also been used in that position. Although it is moot whether the Hungarian actually wants to play there.

So, Andoni Iraola's solution has been to deploy Ronald Araujo in the role, which has worked well with Liverpool keeping a clean-sheet in their last three Premier League matches.

Meet Liverpool's new Trent Alexander-Arnold

There is however a new Alexander-Arnold on the scene at youth level. Lewis John-Charles is a rapid right-back who currently plays for Liverpool's U16 and U17 team.

He caught the eye at the J.League select international games, with two tremendous performances for Liverpool.

John-Charles was also spotted training with the U21s and a few first-team players at the start of the summer.

He is very highly rated and probably the most talented right-back to emerge out of the academy since Trent.

Now, it has just been announced that he has also signed his first major deal. John-Charles has agreed a deal to be represented by the Gersh agency.

This is the same agency that represents Alexander-Arnold, and it's also where Alexander-Arnold's brother, Tyler, who is an agent works.

It's why Liverpool have their new Trent.
