At senior level we've seen this translate to the signings of Bradley Barcola, Florian Wirtz and Jeremy Jacquet.

However, at youth level there has been an even more aggressive recruitment plan. Liverpool have brought in Will Wright, Armin Pecsi, Mor Talla Ndiaye, Ifeanyi Ndukwe, Samuel Martinez, Djylian N'Guessan and Lucca Brughmans.

More young players are also being targeted by Liverpool with Julian Ward keen to recruit the best in the world.

Julian Ward's plans for Liverpool's next signings

Liverpool have recently invited two trialists from The Gambia. Sheriff Bah and Musa Jatta are both believed to have impressed the Reds' coaching staff.

Ward's also eyeing Daniel Banjaqui, who Pedro Marques spotted at the U17 World Cup and who is seen as the perfect right-back for the club.

There's also strong interest in Gilberto Mora. Liverpool are one of the frontrunners in the race to sign the Mexican sensation. However, no final agreement has been reached. There's a strong chance Mora could end-up at Anfield though.

Justin Ellis is another player on the club's radar. As is David Otorbi. The two teenagers have both caught the eye over the course of the last year.

Ellis is a stand-out talent in the MLS, meanwhile Otorbi has caught the eye for Valencia.

Meet Liverpool's new Firmino - Kobi Akerele

There are also some exciting talents within Liverpool's own academy. There's high hopes for Joshua Abe and Luca Eden as well as Patrik Farkas.

AJ Yeguo has recently started to catch the eye as well.

But there's another exciting young player. Kobi Akerele has six goals and seven assists for Liverpool at U16 and U17 level this season and he made history with England's youth national team as well.

The young striker earned a call-up for the Three Lions competing at the U15 World Cup. It's the first time the tournament is taking place and Akerele scored England's first goal at the tournament netting during a 4-0 victory for his nation.

A small and creative forward. Akerele plays like Roberto Firmino being both a facilitator and a goal-scorer. He is a typical false nine with great technical qualities and someone who could easily replicate the Reds' former Brazilian in the future.
