Back in January 2002, Paris Saint-Germain forward Nicolas Anelka joined Liverpool on loan.

Former Red Jamie Carragher has revealed that he was thrilled when he heard that the Frenchman had joined Liverpool on a six-month deal.

The Scouser said that Anelka's resume was what got him excited. Before signing with the Reds, the striker had played for some big clubs (Arsenal, Real Madrid and PSG).

However, Anelka did not live up to the hype at Anfield. The forward only managed to score five goals in 22 appearances for Liverpool.
