The next Sadio Mane is coming to Liverpool, and it's going to be incredible
There's a new Sadio Mane on the scene, and he's incredible.
Liverpool fans will forever remember the memories of that incredible trio under Jurgen Klopp. Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino were unplayable on their day.
They could do whatever they wanted. Defenders were terrified of facing them.
It was a spectacular era. One of the best periods of many supporters' lives. Witnessing their magic at Anfield was truly an indelible experience.
Liverpool are now trying to recreate that with a new exciting trio. In Bradley Barcola and Alexander Isak they have two of the three attackers they need.
But there is still a piece missing in the jigsaw for Andoni Iraola. Perhaps not for long. Because there is a player who looks bound to end-up at Anfield.
Why Liverpool decided not to sign a right-winger
The plan was for Yan Diomande to be the missing jigsaw piece. But Liverpool's pursuit ended up very messy. The Ivorian was at one point leaning close towards a move to the Reds.
But then he changed his mind. He wanted Paris Saint Germain. Then he changed his mind again and decided to join Real Madrid.
One can hardly blame him. Very few players can resist the cajoling calls of the Spanish giants, some of Liverpool's very own have even succumbed to the temptation.
But it did throw a giant spanner in the works in terms of Liverpool's plans.
Towards the end of the window Richard Hughes did pursue moves for Yankuba Minteh and Ismaila Sarr in a desperate attempt to find a right-sided winger.
But those pursuits were ultimately decided against when their respective clubs hiked up their prices.
Assane Diao is bound for Liverpool
The truth is Liverpool also preferred to keep their powder dry because they knew better options may emerge in upcoming windows.
One of those is the incredible Assane Diao, who Liverpool have tracked for over three years now and who is recognised in Senegal as the next Mane.
Unlike his predecessor Diao prefers to play on the right-wing, and he is in great form at the moment.
Diao has three goals and one assist in his first four games for Como in all competitions.
He is quick, can also play on the left-wing and through the middle and he is young. Considering Liverpool are open to letting Cody Gakpo leave, Diao makes perfect sense as his replacement.
And here's why he's bound to join the Reds. A few years ago, when Diao was quizzed about what team he likes other than Real Betis. His answer: Liverpool.
A young right-sided winger who scores goals and who dreams of the Reds. It's written in the stars.
