Richard Hughes gets major transfer update on 'beautiful' Liverpool target
Liverpool are going to be spending another small fortune this summer.
The Anfield outfit are going to have go through yet another rebuild due to their poor performances this season.
Many of Liverpool's first-team squad don't deserve to be anywhere near Arne Slot's starting XI and are only in there due to necessity.
But, seeing as though the summer transfer window is now just around the corner, many rumours have started to emerge with the Reds being handed a fresh update on one of their many targets.
Bayern Munich see Michael Olise as untouchable
With Mohamed Salah exiting Anfield this summer, Liverpool will clearly need a new attacker to come in and replace him.
The Egyptian King has been the Reds' main attacking threat over the last few years so replacing him will certainly not be easy.
Players such as Yan Diomande and Bazoumana Toure have been linked as potential replacements but, Liverpool's main target has always been Michael Olise.
However, since the Bayern Munich star has been in the best form of his life over the last couple of seasons, it was unclear whether the Bundesliga outfit would even consider moving him on.
And now, thanks to Sky Germany, Liverpool finally have their answer.
"He can cast five eyes on #Olise, he won't get him. He's staying unsellable," Uli Hoeness said.
"I hope I won't meet him [Mourinho], because he could have saved himself the trip from Madrid."
Liverpool will have to turn their attention away from Michael Olise
Even though Olise may have been described as a "beautiful" player to watch, it's clear that Liverpool won't get him, no matter what they throw at Bayern.
Olise and Harry Kane have been two of the most in-form attackers in the world and without them, the Bundesliga outfit wouldn't have got to the semi-final of the Champions League.
And, now that Hoeness had reiterated that Olise is unsellable, it's now time for Liverpool to turn their attention elsewhere and try sign someone who can at least plug the gap that Salah will be leaving behind.
As mentioned, Diomande and Toure are high on the Reds' shortlist but other out-there options must also be considered with players such as Dario Osorio and Jarrod Bowen being linked with a switch.
Although Slot and Richard Hughes may not be able to get their number one target, that doesn't mean that other players couldn't do as good of a job as the Frenchman.
In fact, when the price of players such as Osorio and Toure is taken into account, they could even end up as better options for Liverpool to explore.
