Once you become a Red, you're always a Red. Liverpool is a bit like a family in that sense.

Alumni are always welcomed back, especially if you leave on good terms, and since many of the people connected to the club remain in football, there is often the possibility for a reunion.

Ex-players Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane had a touching moment with each other just a few years ago when the pair met up in the Saudi Premier League with their respective teams. Likewise, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho all had a similar moment in 2023 when Steven Gerrard was head coach of Al Ettifaq. It's remarkable how things come about with former Liverpool players.

Well, it also happens with managers and players, with Pepijn Lijnders reuniting with Stefan Bajcetic and Bobby Clark at RB Salzburg last season and Jurgen Klopp has now joined the Red Bull football organisation as their 'Head of Global Soccer', so he could be overseeing another Red this summer.

Elliott to Leipzig is a possibility

Harvey Elliott's future is uncertain right now, since he couldn't really break into the Liverpool first-team on a regular basis last season, despite his best efforts and the fans' wishes, and now Florian Wirtz has been signed to play in his position, so we're left at a loss as to what happens with him.

But this should not be a reflection on his form or quality, since the 22-year-old England international helped win his side the U21 European Championship just a few weeks ago, earning the player of the tournament award. It was the second international trophy of his career after the U21 Euros in 2023.

As such, we're left in a weird position and he's an increasingly valuable asset for us to sell.

The transfer market has seen some bizarre moves this summer, and since Anthony Elanga moved to Newcastle for £55m, a player who is older, hasn't experienced European football, has less goal contributions in his career and has won less, it seems fair that at least £50m should be asked for him.

One of the teams in the running for him is Leipzig and a move to Germany is a plausible possibility.

Philipp Hinze at Sky Germany has addressed the rumours surrounding the young attacking midfielder.

In his update, he said: "Harvey Elliott is indeed on Leipzig's shadow squad list, but as of today, a transfer is not particularly likely. The overall package of transfer fee and salary is very high, Elliott's market is broad and financially strong.

"A deal cannot be completely ruled out, as Leipzig maintains very good contact with Elliott's agency, ROOF. What was cold weeks ago has at least warmed up somewhat.

"However, transfer revenue would need to be generated first, as the squad is currently overstaffed, especially in the attacking positions. Offensively, they have recently opted for other profiles. Contract until 2027. One to watch. RB possibly with outsider chances."

It is worth mentioning that Xavi Simons is currently at Leipzig and available on the market, receiving interest from Chelsea and Arsenal, per Fabrizio Romano, so Elliott could be his replacement.

But as mentioned, we might still be a long way off any movement for the Englishman. But, it is a distinct possibility that Klopp and Elliott could reunite in some form and that would be special.
