'Most likely outcome' for future of 'beautiful' Liverpool sensation shared

Liverpool are falling even further behind their title rivals than they were last season.

Most people didn't think that things could get worse than they did during Arne Slot's last term in charge but, if Liverpool don't start adding more players to their ranks, it's hard to see how they'll even qualify for the Champions League.

Chelsea and Manchester City have both spent over £115 million on new players to bolster their main areas of concern.

And, even though Liverpool have welcomed Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz to their club this summer, those signings alone aren't enough for them to start competing for the Premier League title again.

However, since Liverpool are a sell-to-buy club, it feels like there has to be some sacrifices on the way and, for one member of their first-team squad, it feels like his time in L4 is now coming to its natural end.

Federico Chiesa is more likely to end up in the Serie A than staying at Liverpool this summer

Federico Chiesa's time at Liverpool has been a bit strange.

The Reds made him Slot's only signing during the 2024-25 summer transfer window with many fans believing that the Italian was going to be the deal of the window.

He only cost the Anfield outfit around £10 million to bring in and, he was seen as a perfect back-up to Mohamed Salah.

However, for one reason or another, Slot rarely ever trusted him to play and, when he did, it was often for the final five or 10 minutes of a match.

This same pattern carried on into the 2025-26 campaign and, now the 2026-27 season is just around the corner, a decision needs to be made on his future.

And, while speaking to GiveMeSport, journalist James Pearce shared a huge update on the Italian's future.

"I think the most likely outcome is that by the end of transfer window Chiesa will play for a Serie A club," he said.

Even though Chiesa hasn't been all that important for Liverpool over the last couple of years, he's still a better option on the right wing than someone such as Dominik Szoboszlai or Jeremie Frimpong.

Indeed, both of these players can be used there if needed but, since Hugo Ekitike is still out of action for a rather long time, Liverpool need their attack to be on point.

And, now that Salah has also exited Anfield, it's unclear where all of their goals are going to be coming from.

Yan Diomande would have been the perfect addition with his arrival even allowing Chiesa to seek an exit.

But, until at least another attacker is brought in, there's no way that Iraola should even consider letting the "beautiful" attacker leave.

That is, especially when the Reds are wanting to strengthen their ranks, rather than weaken them.
