Liverpool's golden chance to steal brilliant star and leave Arsenal in shock

Liverpool have an incredible chance to steal a fantastic player. It's a move that would leave Arsenal in absolute shock.

Liverpool's attack is not what it should be. There are many reasons for this, but struggling to create good opportunities when you've dropped this much money is ridiculous.

It's a sign that this wasn't a particularly good recruitment process. Either Liverpool signed the wrong players, or the wrong players for their coach, or the wrong players for one another.

That latter reason is the one we believe in. This isn't a balanced group of forwards and it's pretty clear to see. They've struggled under two head coaches now but we know they're good players.

So the balance just isn't right. It's quite easy to see why, too, given no one in the group is left-footed and the point of attack is always exactly the same no matter who's on the pitch. Liverpool are ultimately very easy to defend against and have a complete inability to shake things up.

That's why we think they should go out and buy one last attacker for this group. With the added bonus of it destabilising Arsenal.

Endrick for Liverpool, not Endrick for Arsenal

Anfield Watch understands, along with most other outlets, that Liverpool tried to sign Endrick in the summer. There was some sort of approach but one that fell on deaf ears.

Now, the Reds were far from the only club that tried to sign him. Endrick just wasn’t interested in leaving Real Madrid as he felt he could force his way into the picture. That hasn’t really happened - he’s played 78 La Liga minutes as of writing.

José Mourinho keeps winning matches in charge, too, and that’s with a very settled forward line, all of whom are performing. It’s very difficult to see how Endrick gets back in - especially as Carlos Espi rivals him for minutes as a substitute.

TeamTalk claims that the Brazilian is now more open to moving and it’s alerted Arsenal. The Gunners also tried to sign Endrick in the summer and are willing to continue their pursuit.

But we really, really think Liverpool should be on this one. Endrick’s data at Lyon last season was exceptional and our Value Adder model had him down as a truly fantastic player.

He’s also a left-footed forward who can cover through the middle or wide on the right. In other words, he plays the two positions where Liverpool genuinely lack balance.

And if Endrick truly is Arsenal’s big attacking play in the transfer market, grabbing him would shock them enough to provide an extra win for Liverpool. It’s the kind of move they should be making - and we hope it can be forced into reality.
