Liverpool plan THREE more new signings after completing Hugo Ekitike deal

It has been a bizarre summer transfer window so far, with Liverpool making five signings inside the first nine weeks, yet there are still just less than six weeks still to go before it closes.

A substantial amount of money has been spent in that time and you feel as though the club might be looking to slow down soon, but once the big sales have been made, they might well need replacing.

Of course, the funds from Luis Diaz's impending sale will likely go on a new left-winger to compete with Cody Gakpo, or we could see the other positions in the squad receiving some needed TLC.

We can identify three more deals that could be done to bolster Arne Slot's side.

Where else can Liverpool improve?

At the start of the summer, we knew the Reds needed a new pair of full-backs and the solutions found in the market came in the form of Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong - both huge talents.

Then we got the surprise move for Florian Wirtz, whose transfer fee might break the English transfer record if all of his add-ons are triggered. His creativity as an attacking midfielder who can play in a number of positions was essential to fully replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold who joined Real Madrid.

And then we had Armin Pecsi, who will join the academy but holds dreams of breaking into the first-team in future, learning from the experienced Alisson Becker and Giorgi Mamardashvili in goal.

Following those four deals, we had a few weeks to take stock of where we're at and most recently, Fabrizio Romano gave his 'Here We Go' for Hugo Ekitike to join the Reds from Frankfurt to become the club's new striker, as Darwin Nunez's future remains particularly uncertain amid outside interest.

However, there is reason to believe that Liverpool won't be finished quite yet.

A centre-back at least is required to replace Jarell Quansah and Marc Guehi is currently the subject of speculation to fill that role. To not bring in a new defender would be to actively worsen the Reds' chances of retaining their Premier League title this season. It's imperative we sign someone.

But the heartbreaking passing of Diogo Jota at the start of July has meant that Liverpool might be forced into buying another striker alongside Ekitike, because our No. 20 is sadly no longer here.

Jayden Danns might be called up from the academy, but he will be assessed throughout pre-season before any decisions are made. It might be that the 19-year-old is sent out on a loan move instead.

And then we have a transfer that was mentioned earlier, the left-wing position. Luis Diaz is set to leave and it's plausible that a high-profile move could be made to replace him, with Real Madrid's Rodrygo Goes featuring commonly in the rumour mill. At this rate, it's a distinct possibility.

So look out over the next few weeks because Liverpool have been ruthless when they've identified a player they want. A lot can happen in a few weeks and there's plenty to time left in the window.

We need a solid centre back and if lucio leaves we need a replacement Gapko really Shon last season but we need a backup. Im amazed quansah made the money he did i wasn't sure hed grow into a liverpool defender! So we're light in defense as we all know so who and how many more come in? And Darwin? Theres a player there! I think if he does leave he may show what we all know is in there. Personally his pace he's a nuisance and if he can just slow himself down from that pace and be clinical he will be a player!. Personally id love to keep this squad adding a quality centre back. At the moment it could be a case of we just out score opponents and the defense will be the problem we've a Rolls Royce but finding another is not going to be cheap if possible. Bring on the season I cant wait
