Midfielder closing in on move away: He is 50/50 to jet out for preseason tour
Liverpool will listen to offers for certain midfielders this summer.
Curtis Jones is top of that list with the 25-year-old heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan. If the Italian champions meet Richard Hughes’ €40m asking price then it is likely the two-time Premier League title winner will be off.
Harvey Elliott meanwhile returned to the AXA Training Centre following an unproductive stint on loan at Aston Villa. Having missed out on a permanent £35m deal the 23-year-old could also be sold as he - like Jones - only has a year on his contract.
What becomes of Stefan Bajcetic is right now unknown. He has been associated with a move back to Spain - with several clubs interested - but his current injury status is likely to deter a transfer.
Trey Nyoni could join Swansea
Another whose future is up in the air is Trey Nyoni. The 19-year-old has endured a frustrating couple of seasons at Liverpol under Arne Slot - following a first-team breakthrough under Jürgen Klopp.
Nyoni only managed six Premier League appearances last season - no starts - leading to speculation he would be allowed to leave in order to find first-team football.
Various reports indicate that Richard Hughes would be prepared to listen to offers of around £7m for the former Leicester City talent and a loan deal has already been mooted.
Swansea tipped to make 'big push' for Nyoni
Now Swansea Independent is claiming that Swansea - coached by ex-Liverpool coach Vitor Matos are optimistic about landing Nyoni this summer.
It’s not known whether the Championship side are asking for a loan deal or a permanent transfer at this stage - but the publication rates Nyoni’s chances of going out to the United States on a preseason tour next week as being in the balance.
“There are now calls for a big push on Trey Nyoni who we first reported on three weeks ago as of interest to Vitor Matos along with several other Liverpool youngsters,” the report reads.
Nyoni is 50/50 to go on tour
“Currently the Swans believe they are in first place to get their man," the report continues.
"He was never going to be at Swansea quickly this summer as we reported below, new manager Iraola wants a good look at him.
“Currently we hear he is 50/50 to travel with the Liverpool squad to the USA shortly.”
Nyoni joined Liverpool back in summer 2023 from Leicester’s academy - quickly outgrowing age-group football at Anfield. Last season was supposed to be a breakthrough campaign but the England youth was quite often left kicking his heels.
Under contract until 2030 there is still a very good player in there and most fans would prefer a loan to a permanent sale at this stage - particularly at that bargain price.
