Crystal Palace could SWAP Marc Guehi for Richard Hughes favourite
Liverpool are interested in the Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi.
The 25-year-old defender is out of contract in 2026 and the FA Cup holders have not had any success in convincing him to sign a new deal.

The saga has led to speculation that Palace would be willing to SELL the England international this summer - with £40m suggested as a potential transfer fee.

Liverpool are facing significant disruption in the centre-back sector with Jarell Quansah having been sold to Bayer Leverkusen.
Palace looking at Guehi replacements
Despite signing Giovanni Leoni from Parma, Liverpool look a player light on senior options in central defence.
That’s why Guehi is such an attractive option; an established Premier League skipper and England international available for a fraction of his true worth.
It’s understandable that Palace would reluctant to sell Guehi even if a proper offer is made. That’s because they would find it hard to replace him in defence.
But now there could be movement in that area with the Guardian claiming that a Richard Hughes favourite is being lined up to replace Guehi.
That in turn could help unlock Liverpool’s deal for Guehi.
Crystal Palace eye Lloyd Kelly
Lloyd Kelly, 26, is a Juventus player currently having joined from Newcastle on a permanent basis following a loan spell for around £17.5m.
But the former Bournemouth defender - who Liverpool have tried to sign on two previous occasions - looks set for a move back to the Premier League.
“The former Bournemouth and Newcastle defender Lloyd Kelly – now at Juventus – is an option to replace Guéhi should he depart,” the report reads.
Richard Hughes signed Kelly for Bournemouth
Kelly signed for Bournemouth back in 2019 when Richard Hughes was technical director at Dean Court. Therefore one of the current Liverpool sporting director’s genius deals could end up benefitting the Reds.
Liverpool have got Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez as their Premier League-proven options at present. Konate, like Guehi, is out of contract in 2026 amid interest from Real Madrid in landing him on a free.
