Liverpool are still in need of wingers.

Mohamed Salah has left the club on a free transfer and next to leave will probably be Federico Chiesa.

The Reds’ hierarchy are desperate to add to their wide attacking options with no shortage of names linked with an Anfield arrival.

Liverpool's unsuccessful winger chase

We’ve seen Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola chief among the candidates to come in while Matias Fernandez-Pardo, Yankuba Minteh and Said El Mala have also been associated with a move to Merseyside.

One option that could come into play for Liverpool is striking a deal for Oskar Pietuszewski. The 18-year-old Poland international currently stars for FC Porto - winning the Portuguese league last season.

He has got a €60m (£51m) release clause with Borussia Dortmund currently considering a bid per a report in Fussball Daten.

But if the Bundesliga side cannot get a deal over the line then it will give clubs like Liverpool the chance to pounce for the outstanding young talent.

“The competition for the transfer is not limited to Borussia Dortmund and FC Porto,” the report reads.

“Alongside the well-funded Premier League clubs Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United, Bayern Munich and Spanish giants Atlético Madrid are also said to be tracking the young Polish talent.

“The Westphalian club plans to submit an offer of around €35 million plus performance-related bonuses for the Polish attacker. “Dortmund’s hierarchy already views €35 million as a major investment in a young talent. Porto’s response to that figure is likely to shape the next stage of negotiations.

“If the Portuguese club does not soften its position, Borussia Dortmund could initially step back and wait, or explore creative structures such as a sell-on percentage.”

Oskar Pietuszewski: Situation summary

Oskar Pietuszewski is an 18-year-old Poland youth international and left winger at FC Porto, having moved from Jagiellonia Białystok.

He is a right-footer who mainly starts from the left, with enough flexibility to play across the front line. He’s been described as an explosive, direct wide attacker with strong upside, and Porto’s early use of him has only accelerated the hype.

Transfermarkt currently has him at €25m, which underlines how quickly his valuation has climbed. Porto’s contract structure gives them real control, with a deal running to 2029 and a reported €60m release clause.

That makes a sale unlikely unless a major club comes in aggressively, so the destination for now is more “stay and develop” than an imminent move.
