What does Marc Guehi to Juventus mean for Liverpool?
Liverpool's squadron of centre-backs is reportedly set for a change in personnel.
The main player who fans thought might leave was Virgil Van Dijk, although his two-year contract extension has firmly put all doubts aside for the time being.

However, the remaining members of the team have less certain futures and a couple could easily get caught up in the winds of change that are set to arrive at Anfield later this summer.
A truly heavyweight summer of transfer activity is expected to take place and Liverpool will need to react accordingly to every move that takes place.
Transfer target Guehi will reportedly be heading to Italy
Marc Guehi is an extremely talented English centre-back, who has been learning his trade at Crystal Palace after being released from Chelsea's academy back in 2020.
He is one of the standout defenders in the world right now and Liverpool have been monitoring his efforts in the Premier League for some time.
However, given he is a home-grown asset, his value to clubs like Palace and Liverpool is even greater because he helps them meet the domestic quota for their squads.

But, it seems as though Juventus are planning to steal him away in quick time, as Calico Mercato is reporting their intention to accelerate a deal 'with the aim of trying to close this operation before the opening of the summer market'.
This plan would involve them offering the Eagles a bid of €40m (£34m), which in all honesty seems to be an incredibly low opening salvo, given Tottenham had an offer of £70m rejected back in February.
Although, if we were to take this approach seriously, and consider the potential likelihood that Palace would accept this bid, then where would this leave Liverpool in terms of their upcoming moves?
Ibrahima Konate is currently subject to extensive interest from PSG, according to Anfield Watch's understanding, and so the Reds will need to be really careful with how we deal with his situation.
Previously, we believed that he declined an approach from the club for a new contract - given his is set to expire in 2026 - because he wanted to know whether Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah would be staying.
But in the months since that update, we have seen the pair extend their deals, and Liverpool have now officially won the Premier League. Guehi would be an admirable replacement for Konate, but if we are happy to let the Englishman go to Juventus, then perhaps there is more than meets the eye.
Furthermore, Jarell Quansah has been left on the periphery this season, with Konate favoured ahead of him to parter Van Dijk, so Liverpool might want to cut their losses on him this summer.
But, given Quansah is a home-grown player, it would only make sense for him to leave if a new home-grown player was going to take his place, such as Guehi, so maybe there's a hint at what might happen there as well.
Alternatively, an entirely different centre-back target might now have taken precedence and the home-grown player quote might not be a concern that is in need of as much attention as we think.

Of course, there is a lot of time still to go before the transfer window even opens, so a lot could change, and it seems unlikely that Palace would even take notice of Juventus' bid because it is far below their estimations for the player. But Liverpool will have to be eyeful of how this one proceeds.
