Anfield Watch understands that initial talks between the club and the player's representatives have already taken place and so fans have already begun to get excited.
But amongst all the conflicting news reports that are released about his situation everyday, it can be really difficult to know whether a move for the striker is actually a possibility or not.
Here's everything you need to know about him.
Ekitike to Liverpool is a legitimate possibility
At just 22 years-old, it is remarkably that the player is getting so much attention so early on in his career, but when clubs see potential in a footballer that is already delivering at the elite level from a young age, then things can progress quite quickly.
This season has been the Frenchman's breakout campaign, delivering 22 goals and 10 assists for Eintracht Frankfurt from 3370 minutes of play and everyone is talking about him.
Not only does the Bundesliga have a new talent that people should be aware of, he has also led the line in the Europa League, where he made his mark with a goal against Tottenham two weeks ago.

He still qualifies for the French U-21 setup and scored a hat-trick in the last international break against England, rising to the occasion when his team needed him.
Everything we have seen from the wonderkid has been impressive so far, and is all-round game makes him an enviable asset for almost any team in the world. Strikers are in short supply right now, but Ekitike has showcased that he is already on his way to mastering the fine art.
Liverpool tried once to invest in a project, but spending £85m on Darwin Nunez three years ago. His qualities were impressive, but he was never viewed as the finished article. The club paid for his potential and sadly, we are now at the point whereby the two parties are best going different ways.
But Ekitike, on the other hand, has already showed far more promise than the Uruguayan and that is why is in such a high demand. Clubs wanted guaranteed goals and he seems to offer that.
The last report we saw on the player was from BILD, who believe that Frankfurt have raised their stakes, hoping to receive £70m for him, although that price could rise to €100m.
After all, Liverpool are not the only interested party, so the player will only go to the highest bidder, although the Reds' being newly crowned Premier League winners might sway the player one way or another.
Nonetheless, a fee that high a price is a concern. Liverpool have money to spend because only £12.5m has been sanctioned over the last three seasons, and Nunez's departure will bring in a hefty amount of cash that will inflate the budget.

So all hope might not be lost, but we might need to rely on a bit of magic from Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards at the negotiating table if the Frenchman is to move to Merseyside this summer.
