However, that's not all. The future of Luis Diaz isn't clear whatsoever as the Colombian has rejected a new deal with Liverpool.

That wasn't because he's chasing an exit as such. Diaz didn't like the terms offered and he remains on his initial contract signed back in 2022.

It's unusual at Liverpool, who typically reward performing players with new contracts. Three years in, Diaz hasn't had a new deal and efforts to give him one this season haven't met his expectations.

Now there's talk he could be off, with Saudi Pro League teams eager to snap him up. This could be the final few months of Diaz at Liverpool.

Should that happen, the Reds would need a new forward to replace him. They won't actually have to look very hard to find one, though.

Ademola Lookman to Liverpool

Il Giorno in Italy claims Liverpool are to be offered Atalanta's Ademola Lookman. This is far from the first time that the Reds have been linked with the African Footballer of the Year, though.

Anfield Watch understands that Lookman would be eager to move to Anfield, too. He knows the area, having played for Everton, and wants to capitalise on his form over the last couple of seasons.

Atalanta want a move to happen and expect some sort of transfer to happen this summer. They'll certainly sound out Liverpool to see if that deal is with the Reds.

There are a few moving parts here, though, with Diaz the biggest. He must leave Liverpool for this to have any chance of happening and he'd likely need to move for a sizeable fee, too.

But then Lookman would make some sense. He's the kind of player Liverpool like to sign in that he's right on the cusp of being 'elite'. The Reds could easily believe they're the right club to move him up a level as they've done with so many others.

Lookman is also a homegrown player and that counts for a lot. Liverpool could lose several of them in 2025, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher, Harvey Elliott, Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah all linked with exits.
