Mohamed Salah’s final game for Liverpool is fast approaching.

The Egyptian King announced in March that he would be leaving Anfield at the end of the season, and now the time for his farewell has arrived.

The Reds' upcoming match against Brentford on the final day of the season will be the last time Salah pulls on a Liverpool shirt, at least for a while, and the club’s attention must now turn to who can replace the legendary forward.

Having already broken the bank for Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak last summer, many would assume that Liverpool cannot afford another massive outlay this window, but a new report has claimed that the Reds are preparing another British transfer record offer.

Liverpool to break transfer record to sign Michael Olise

Several names have been suggested as potential heirs to Salah’s spot on Liverpool’s right wing, and most of the players mentioned wouldn’t come cheap.

Jarrod Bowen and Yan Diomande have been heavily linked, but Michael Olise is the name that will get the Anfield faithful the most excited.

The Frenchman has recorded 52 goal involvements in 51 appearances for Bayern Munich this year and was named the Bundesliga player of the season.

Now, a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes has claimed that Liverpool are preparing a €170 million (~£148m) offer to bring the 24-year-old back to the Premier League.

The Reds have been big admirers of Olise for some time, and links date back to before the forward moved from Crystal Palace to Bayern Munich, but it is the German champions’ view that Olise is not for sale.

No matter how desperate Bayern are to keep hold of their star man, an offer of €170 million would be incredibly difficult to turn down and would certainly get the club thinking.

Bayern have also been heavily linked with a £75 million move for Anthony Gordon in recent weeks, and signing the Englishman could open the door further on Olise’s exit.

Olise would certainly be a dream replacement for Salah, but €170m is an astronomical figure and there has been little indication from either English or German outlets that the deal is on.

Last summer proved that the Reds are willing to spend big for the right players though, and a move for Olise certainly doesn’t seem impossible.

With no replacement lined up yet for Mo Salah, a Liverpool move for Olise could be something to keep an eye on heading into the summer window.
