Liverpool to be handed €40m boost after agreement already reached

Liverpool still need to make a lot of changes to their ranks if they're wanting to start competing for silverware again.

The Anfield outfit had a rather poor season last term and, if they don't add some more new faces to their ranks soon, some serious questions will need to be asked.

Before the 2025-26 campaign even ended, everyone who spoke about Liverpool knew that changes were needed across the board.

And, while three new players have already been brought in, there are still some red flags among their ranks that need sorting.

However, since the Reds are a sell-to-buy club, some exits will need to be sanctioned before any major moves are completed.

Several members of Andoni Iraola's squad have already been linked with a move away and now, the future of one Liverpool star seems to be all but confirmed.

Inter Milan are finally ready to meet Liverpool's €40 million valuation for Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones' future has been up in the air for some time now.

Last term, the midfielder was often left out of Arne Slot's plans and, even when he was called up to start, it was at right-back.

And, while he performed fairly well in that position, it's clear that he's much better off when used in the centre of the park.

However, thanks to Slot having favourites, Jones rarely ever got the game time he deserved which is why he was seeking an exit.

Inter Milan have been the team at the front of the chase for Jones from the start and now, it seems like they're finally going to meet Liverpool's €40 million valuation for their academy graduate.

"The next step in Inter's market plan is Curtis Jones. Frattesi's sale opens a space for the English midfielder in the squad," Gianluigi Longari said in quotes relayed by Inter Xtra.

"Inter is ready to increase its offer by including bonuses to reach Liverpool's asking price of around €40M. An agreement with Jones has already been found."

Liverpool will need to find themselves a replacement for Curtis Jones

Even though none of Liverpool's midfielders have left yet, if Jones exits, the Reds will almost certainly need to source a replacement for him.

Last term, their midfield was their most stacked area with a decent chunk of players all being able to play in the centre of the park.

And, while there's still plenty of depth among their ranks at the moment, if Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister perform as poorly as they did last term, they're going to need other options to choose from.

Of course, they have brought Harvey Elliott back from Aston Villa but, at the moment, it's unclear how much Iraola is going to use him.

Lamine Camara, Manu Kone and Adam Wharton have all been linked with an Anfield switch in the past but, no actual bids have been made.

But, when Jones does exit L4, they'll need to figure out rather quickly who they want among their ranks.

Here's hoping some decisions are made soon so that Liverpool's fanbase can actually see what their team is going to look like this term.
