Liverpool are reportedly open to selling one of their best players this summer. A mega bid would seal the deal.

Liverpool have already said goodbye to key players ahead of the new campaign. Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate all left on free transfers.

That feels like a disaster, in all truth. Liverpool haven't replaced any of them properly and received no money with which to do so. Honestly, it feels as though it's been swept under the rug just how bad that is.

And it might actually get worse. Liverpool appear to be open to selling Alisson Becker this summer to receive something before his contract expires in 2027.

Now, 'something' is better than the 'nothing' we've seen for three key players in 2026 but it would still mean a cut-price sale for a player Liverpool would struggle to replace adequately. But that's the direction things are heading.

Talksport claim Saudi Pro League sides are now lining up a move for Alisson. It's actually a delicate situation as the Reds' sporting director, Richard Hughes, is set to join Al-Hilal after the transfer window.

The report notes this, claiming they will be incredibly transparent about any interest in Liverpool players. So that's nice.

The 'don't wish to sell' line is used here but it's just the standard negotiation response. It's made perfectly clear that while the Reds don't want to sell, they absolutely will sell for the right amount of cash.

That amount is higher than the ridiculous €15m Juventus offered at the start of the window, but we can't imagine Liverpool are chasing €40m or €50m here. Get into the €25m range and they'll be thinking about it.

Giorgi Mamardashvili would be catapulted into the no.1 shirt if Alisson were to leave, of course. We're not entirely sure that's a good idea, though, and the Georgian wasn't entirely convincing when called upon last season.

At the same time, few players were.

We'll just have to see how this one progresses, then. Liverpool may have a big decision to make if a Saudi club makes a major offer. Though, it does sort of sound as though they've already decided what they'll do.
