Liverpool must poach deal for Premier League sensation, his club are ready to sell
Liverpool have only got around a month before the Premier League season kicks off.
And, even though they've brought in Victor Munoz and basically have two new centre-backs to choose from in Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet, they still need improvements across the board.
One of their main problems over the last few years is the lack of depth that they have had among their ranks.
Injuries have always been an issue at Anfield so, the fact that they have a minimal amount of depth is far from ideal.
That's why, at the moment, one of the Reds' main recruitment policies is to look for versatile players with most of the ones they're being linked to able to play in numerous positions.
However, sometimes, you just need a specialist player for a specific position which is exactly what Liverpool need at the moment and why they should be on the verge of poaching a deal from one of their Premier League rivals.
Liverpool need to enter the race for Bruno Guimaraes
Funnily enough, Liverpool's midfield is the strongest area among their ranks in terms of depth.
However, last term, Arne Slot often chose to stick with Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch even though the latter two rarely had a good game.
To be fair to Szoboszlai, he was Liverpool's best player by a country mile last term and thoroughly deserved his contract extension.
But, since his midfield partners forgot how to play football, it's clear that some new faces are needed.
So, the fact that the main players Liverpool are being linked with are midfielders is hardly surprising.
However, if they want to give themselves the best possible chance of winning some silverware, they need to bring in top-class players and, at the moment, one of the best possible midfielders for them to target is ready for the taking.
But, Liverpool will need to poach Arsenal's deal for him if they wish to bring him in.
"Newcastle are ready to approve Bruno Guimarães’ sale after identifying Hugo Larsson of Eintracht Frankfurt as their preferred replacement," Ekrem Konur shared via his personal X account.
"Arsenal preparing a new bid for Bruno has pushed Newcastle to step up their interest in Larsson, whose profile they appreciate."
Bruno Guimaraes has been on Liverpool's shortlist for as long as anyone can remember
Even before Bruno Guimaraes joined Newcastle, Liverpool were linked with a move for the Brazilian.
However, since the Magpies jumped in an offered him more money and a central role in their rebuild, the former Lyon ace chose to make the switch to St James' Park.
Since his arrival in England, the 28-year-old has improved massively and is now seen as one of the best midfielders in England's top flight.
And, even though he's cost Liverpool a fortune to bring in, he'd fit straight into Andoni Iraola's plans and would instantly improve the Reds' starting XI.
The Brazilian's arrival would also bring another South American into Liverpool's ranks and potentially make Alisson and Mac Allister feel more at home after Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz both left Anfield last summer.
Guimaraes also already has plenty of Premier League experience under his belt so there would be no transitional phase for him either.
At the moment, it does feel like Arsenal will be the ones to win the race but, if there's any chance of Liverpool being able to hijack to move and bring him to L4 instead, they need to take it and prove that they're ready to compete for titles again.
Because, after the disappointment of the 2025-26 season, they need to get fans back on their side and need to start proving they're the biggest team in England once again.
