Liverpool have been linked with a new player almost every day over the last month or so.

The Anfield outfit are gearing up to be one of the Premier League's busiest teams again with several areas of their squad needing a new player or two.

One of their main areas of focus will be their attack, especially now that Mohamed Salah is leaving.

The Egyptian King's next destination hasn't been made clear yet but, the void he'll leave behind from his Liverpool departure will certainly be hard to fill.

And now, the Reds have finally been told how much they'll need to fork out if they finally want to get a deal for one of their most-linked players over the line this summer.

Liverpool will only need to pay £69m euros to sign Anthony Gordon this summer

Anthony Gordon has been one of Liverpool's most-linked players over the last couple of years.

Even before Newcastle chose to buy him from Everton for £55 million, the Reds were vying for his transfer.

His versatility, coupled with his Premier League experience and his keen eye for goal are all things that Liverpool need next term.

And now, as per an update from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, it finally feels like the Reds could get their man.

"There have already been club-to-club talks between FC Bayern and Newcastle regarding Anthony Gordon," he wrote.

"Newcastle’s initial demands were up to €90m. Barcelona, Arsenal and Liverpool also informed.

"Realistically, the fee is expected to be around €75-85m including bonuses.

"Bayern will not pay that. That is why talks with other candidates are also ongoing."

Liverpool must do everything that they can to beat their rivals to Anthony Gordon's signature

As mentioned, Gordon has been on Liverpool's radar for some time now.

The attacker has been in fine form for Newcastle once again this term and, even though their other attackers such as Nick Woltemade and Yoanne Wissa have failed to meet expectations, it seems like the Englishman will be the one who's moved on.

Eddie Howe has always been full of praise for the former Evertonian with the Magpies' manager even calling him a "brave" player in the past.

Gordon has contributed to 22-goals across all competitions this term with all three forward positions being covered by the 25-year-old.

Indeed, £69 million may feel like a decent chunk of change but, the fact that Luis Diaz was moved on for around £65.5 million last summer proves that Gordon's estimated price tag isn't all that hight.

This could obviously all end up changing depending on his World Cup outings but for now, it feels like he'd be more than worth the Reds' investment, especially with their search for a new attacker or two being their main focus this summer.
