Andoni Iraola's time as Liverpool's manager has gone fairly well so far.

The Spaniard has made it so his men are unbeaten across all competitions and, while a lot more performance could come from them, at the moment, they're doing fairly well.

Obviously, their game against Manchester City on Sunday is going to be their biggest test of the season but, at the moment, things seem fairly calm at Anfield.

However, since the season is rather long and gruelling, all of this could change with some players even potentially being moved on by Liverpool in January.

Rumours have already started to fly around about what the future has in store for the Reds and some of their players with new links emerging every day.

Liverpool have entered the race for Konstantinos Tzolakis

One of the main positions that Liverpool didn't need to upgrade in the 2026-27 summer transfer window was their goalkeeper.

Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili are two more than capable 'keepers.

However, before Alisson signed his extension, several clubs from across the globe wanted to sign him and, even though it took the entire window for someone to show an interest in Mamardashvili, the Georgian's future was also questioned.

In the end, they both stayed put with the Brazilian being the starter and Mamardashvili being his back-up.

Alisson may have only just extended his contract but, his deal was only for a year-long extension which means that he could leave for free at the end of the current campaign.

This has obviously caused questions to arise with some players now even being linked to join Liverpool as his replacement.

That is, if an update from Fichajes is to be believed.

"Liverpool is closely monitoring Konstantinos Tzolakis, Hull City's goalkeeper, with an eye on the upcoming transfer window. The next Liverpool transfer window will focus on revamping their goalkeeping department," they wrote.

"As reported by sources from the Premier League on October 6, 2026, the Anfield board is monitoring the performances of the Greek international, noting a price tag set by his club at 40 million pounds.

"Despite the interest in Tzolakis, Liverpool's technical department currently has three goalkeeping specialists in their squad: Alisson Becker, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Vítězslav Jaroš.

"Any formal proposal from Merseyside's board will depend on prior outgoing transfers in that position during the summer of 2027.

"The Anfield hierarchy views the Greek goalkeeper's potential as a long-term alternative if a significant sale in the goalkeeping department materializes."

Konstantinos Tzolakis would be a strong addition for Liverpool

At the moment, Alisson is still one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

The 34-year-old may be in the latter stages of his career at the moment but, compared to Mamardashvili, he's twice as good.

Admittedly, his injury history is a bit of a worry but, if Liverpool can keep that under control, he could easily play at the top level for another few seasons.

However, if keeping him fit ends up becoming too difficult, other options such as Tzolakis need to be considered.

Mamardashvili will think that he has a chance of becoming Liverpool's number one but, if his performances don't massively improve from last term, there's no way that the Reds will be able to trust him.

Tzolakis has been a revelation for Hull City this season and, even though £40 million may seem like a lot for a 23-year-old who's only played half a season of Premier League football, you can already tell that he'd be worth every penny.

His distribution and shot-stopping are both fairly impressive and, since he's still so young, he could easily become an even better player than he already is.

Here's hoping that, if Alisson does leave Liverpool, that Tzolakis is on top of Julian Ward's list to replace him.
