Liverpool confirm agreement to sign special midfielder

Liverpool have confirmed an agreement to sign an exciting midfielder.

The midfield is a really tricky area for Andoni Iraola to figure out at the moment.

It doesn't feel like he quite has the right profiles for his system to work. Looking at how Iraola used to play at Bournemouth, he had players capable of releasing the ball quickly.

At Liverpool, things are different.

And it's not just on the ball, where the Reds' midfielders struggle. The midfield is also porous. Gaps are too easy to exploit at the moment and it makes Liverpool's overall game ineffective.

That's why things need to change. Either Liverpool's current options start to perform or Iraola has to make some difficult decisions.

Why Liverpool's midfield doesn't work and who could fix it

Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch both like to carry the ball, and neither are extremely strong when it comes to their reprise possession.

Playing the two of them in a double pivot just doesn't make a lot of sense.

Alexis Mac Allister is a much better players suited to the system and has also started the season in great form. In addition to that Trey Nyoni's ability on the ball also makes him an ideal fit.

However, if Liverpool want an intense ball-winner who is also capable of playing out from deep in the build-up, they will need to enter the transfer market.

Lamine Camara is high on the club's shortlist and a move for him would make a lot of sense. He absolutely could fix the Reds' midfield.

Liverpool confirm agreement to sign midfielder

The Reds did sign a midfielder in the end.

Even though the transfer window shut two weeks ago, Liverpool quietly confirmed the arrival of Patrik Farkas as a free agent on the club's official website.

Farkas has returned to the club after leaving at U16 level to join Blackburn.

He has spent the summer training with the U21s and struck an agreement to join the Reds as revealed by Anfield Watch exclusively back in June.

Now the deal has been finalised at last, and the exciting U19 Hungary midfielder has completed his move to the Reds.

He sat on the bench for the U21s against West Ham on Monday night, and becomes the fifth Hungarian on the books at Liverpool joining his younger brother Erik, Armin Pecsi, Dominik Szoboszlai and Milos Kerkez.
