Leeds confirm deal for Liverpool defender

Liverpool opted to cut ties with SEVEN players on June 30 upon the expiry of their contracts.

Two players who had been in and around the first team - Dominic Corness and Jakub Orjynski headlined the departures with Corness going on to secure a deal with TNS in Wales.

The rest of the departing contingent were from the youth and academy structures. Among the released players were other goalkeepers Reece Trueman and Jacob Poytress, as well as Lee Jonas and Harry Evers.

Also leaving the club was defender Louis Enahoro-Marcus. The 18-year-old had been with the Merseysiders for around a decade - being first spotted playing grassroots football in Manchester.

Liverpool defender finds new club

He moved into the clubโ€™s U10s before going to to represent the club through the age groups. He played 24 times for the U18s last season - scoring once. That goal came in an U18 Premier League game against Leeds United.

Enahoro-Marcus was born in Benin City, Nigeria, before moving to the United Kingdom as a child. Despite representing England at international level, he has opted to declare for Nigeria.

And following his release from Liverpool, it has now been confirmed that Enahoro-Marcus has secured a deal with a new club.

Leeds sign Enahoro-Marcus until 2027

Leeds United announced on Wednesday morning the signing of Enahoro-Marcus on a two-year deal, taking him to 2027.

The defender will be placed with the clubโ€™s U21 side - no doubt hopeful of making a decisive breakthrough at Premier League 2 level next season.

Liverpool's productive academy

Liverpool have had prolific success in producing players from the academy in recent seasons - including first-team squad members Conor Bradley, Tyler Morton, Jayden Danns and James McConnell.

There are high hopes meanwhile for academy pair Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni - two teenagers who have already played for the first team. Nyoni has only just turned 18 and signed a first professional deal earlier this summer.
