It's heating up: Yan Diomande reacts to €100m Liverpool bid

Yan Diomande has reportedly reacted after Liverpool made a €100m offer for him. Here's how things went down.

It's no secret that Liverpool would love to sign Yan Diomande. The Ivorian is the Reds' no.1 target this summer and they're willing to put an awful lot of money on the table to make it happen.

That does make sense, too. Liverpool lacked production out wide last season and what they did have is largely gone with Mohamed Salah's exit.

So the club know they need to invest and there really isn't a better investment to make than in Diomande. The 19-year-old lit up the Bundesliga this season, making it abundantly clear that few can match his ability with the ball out wide.

The potential here is enormous, then, and that's why Liverpool were happy to offer up €100m to RB Leipzig. Now, that offer was rejected, with a few reasons suggested as to why.

Leipzig certainly don't want to sell, but they may also be hoping that Paris Saint-Germain make an offer that drives the price up higher. Time will tell on that one.

The Mail reports, however, that Diomande isn't exactly on board with that plan. He's frustrated at how drawn-out these negotiations have become and is keen on a move to Liverpool.

The Reds certainly won't want talks to go on forever, either. They saw how detrimental that can be last season as Alexander Isak joined on the final day of the summer transfer window.

The important things, then, are that Liverpool want Diomande and he's willing to join. It's just Leipzig who are proving difficult with this one - though, that's entirely their right.

Liverpool ultimately have a decision here. They can call Leipzig's bluff, refuse to up the offer, and hope it gets accepted anyway down the line.

Or they can play ball and bump more money onto the bid. It seems that if Liverpool want things done quickly, that's the course to take.
