Arsenal have made a dramatic move to steal a talent from right under Liverpool noses.

Liverpool are in the market to boost their attack this summer but it's not proving easy. That's a real problem as they really can't afford to fail.

The Reds lacked pace and output from wide positions last season and have since lost Mohamed Salah. They're now incredibly short on the wing and while we're excited about Victor Munoz, he's not going to be enough on his own.

Liverpool do know this, of course. They're currently chasing Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, though the Frenchman wans't their top target heading into the summer window.

That was Yan Diomande. Diomande is an exceptional young talent and one Liverpool remain eager to sign. Unfortunately, he quickly chose PSG as his preferred destination so while the Reds will keep on top of this one, it looks unlikely that he heads to Anfield.

Though, one rival club hasn't got that message. Ben Jacobs reports that Arsenal are now pushing for Diomande, despite his apparent desire to move to Paris.

"Arsenal made an enquiry for Yan Diomande, as reported yesterday on Talksport," writes Jacobs.

"Purely exploratory at this stage. PSG continue to work on a deal, while Leipzig hope Diomande signs a new contract and/or stays for at least an extra season.

"Diomande has made it clear he favours PSG (terms on a five-year contract are in place) as well as a right-sided role. Player equally capable of both sides, but favours more minutes on the right."

It's an interesting one. We'd be quite shocked if Arsenal were able to convince Diomande but they're certainly eager for a signing after missing out on Morgan Rogers to Chelsea.

They appear to fancy their chances, at least a bit. But if Diomande does reconsider his commitment to PSG then Liverpool almost certainly make an almighty offer themselves.
