Arne Slot handed massive Federico Chiesa boost at Liverpool after fresh update from Italy

Federico Chiesa's Liverpool future has dominated headlines since the summer transfer window slammed shut.

The Italian has quickly become a cult hero at Liverpool with fans often questioning why he hasn't been given more of a chance by Arne Slot.

In fact, most fans often question why the attacker hasn't been moved on yet if he's not in the Dutchman's plans.

But, due to the injuries suffered to players such as Alexander Isak and the absence of Mohamed Salah, he's been kept around as a back-up.

Liverpool's stance on selling the attacker hasn't changed much, but, after a fresh update from Italy, it seems like his future has been sealed.

Juventus are looking at alternative transfer targets for Federico Chiesa

Even though Juventus were the ones that sold Chiesa for pennies, the Serie A giants seemingly want to bring their former attacker home.

If it wasn't for his lengthy run of injuries, it's unlikely that he'd have been moved on in the first place.

And, since he's been injury free for most of his entire Liverpool stint, the Old Lady want him back.

However, with no progression being made in the deal apart from a couple of back and forth conversations, it seems like the Reds may have finally done enough to get the Serie A outfit to turn their attention elsewhere.

That is, according to a new update from Calcio Mercato Juventus are 'considering' Daniel Maldini as a 'possible alternative' to Chiesa.

Chiesa's situation has become 'complicated' due to Liverpool not wanting to get rid of their attacker.

Despite this, Juventus are remaining 'vigilant' with Maldini seen as a 'plan B' option in case they don't end up prising Chiesa away from L4.

Liverpool must keep Federico Chiesa at Anfield no matter what

One area that Liverpool have massively struggled in this season is their attack.

Granted, some players such as Hugo Ekitike are exceptions to this but, more often than not, Slot's attack has let him down.

And, now that Isak is out until the end of the season, it feels silly for Liverpool to even consider moving Chiesa on, especially if they don't want to spend any money on new signings in the January transfer window.

There's just under half of the winter window left to go and now that Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi are off the market, it feels unlikely that the Reds will make any moves until summer.

Which is why, allowing Chiesa to exit makes no sense, especially if they want to keep their charge for a top four finish going.
