Andoni Iraola handed huge boost after Yan Diomande snub
Yan Diomande has chosen to join Paris Saint-Germain over Liverpool.
The Ivorian has been expected to be the Reds' marquee signing for as long as many can remember with some fans even thinking it was a done deal.
In fact, from the updates that most journalists have shared over the last couple of months, it felt like almost everyone expected Diomande to join Liverpool.
However, that is evidently not the case and now, Andoni Iraola and Richard Hughes will have to explore other options to try and fill the void left by Mohamed Salah.
At the moment, the right-wing market isn't the most enticing but, there's one player who could almost certainly change that and could perhaps be an even better coup than Diomande.
Bradley Barcola's future as PSG is still 'uncertain'
One area of Liverpool's team that really needs upgrading is their attack.
As mentioned, Salah is about to leave and, with the future of most Liverpool attackers still unclear, it's hard to imagine what the Reds' forward line will look like next season.
Of course, Alexander Isak, Rio Ngumoha and Hugo Ekitike will all still be in L4 but, outside of those three, it becomes a tad hazy.
That's why, despite Diomande snubbing Liverpool, the Anfield outfit are still exploring other options on the market with a fresh update from journalist Fabrice Hawkins finally handing the Reds some good news.
"Bradley Barcola's future at PSG remains uncertain," he wrote.
"For the moment, no decision has been made.
"Anything is possible, case to follow."
Bradley Barcola would be an exceptional acquisition for Liverpool
Bradley Barcola is another player who has long been linked with Liverpool.
The Frenchman was one of the Reds' main targets last summer but, since PSG didn't want to sell, the transfer never went any further than just rumours.
Much like Diomande, his favoured position is on the left-wing but, since he's played all across the front three for PSG, he'd easily be able to do the same for Liverpool.
During the 2025-26 season, Barcola contributed to 20 goals across all competitions and played in 49 games for Luis Enrique's men.
He may have won the Champions League two seasons in a row but, if Diomande and Maghnes Akliouche are both brought in, Barcola is likely to drop further down the pecking order.
And, since he's only 23 years old, he'll want to be playing as much football as possible.
Of course, he'd cost a hefty chunk of change to bring through the Anfield doors but, as far as back-up options go, there's not really anyone better than Barcola, especially with how poor the transfer market is for right-wingers at the moment.
