Liverpool are expected to add many players to their squad this summer.

However, in order for them to do this, they're probably going to have to move some of their own players on to fund the transfers.

And, since the Reds were miles behind their title rivals last term, it's clear that plenty of change is needed before it's too late and history repeats itself again.

Many rumours have emerged from L4 over the last few weeks but now, it feels like the future of one Liverpool star has been confirmed after the latest transfer news that has emerged from Italy.

Liverpool want to sign Zion Suzuki

Zion Suzuki was one of Japan's best players during the 2026 World Cup.

The goalkeeper kept his country in multiple games and, even though they didn't make it too far into the tournament, his quality was clear to see.

Several clubs are vying for the transfer of the 23-year-old and, since he was born in the USA, he can speak English which is a massive bonus.

Thanks to his performances, the interest of Liverpool has reportedly been piqued with a fresh update sharing that the Anfield outfit and Leeds United aren't the only ones that want to sign him.

"Juventus also interested in Zion Suzuki," Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari shared via his personal X account.

"The Parma goalkeeper is the object of interest from Premier League clubs, with Leeds ahead of the competition."

Liverpool's interest in Zion Suzuki could mean that Giorgi Mamardashvili is on his way out of Liverpool

Giorgi Mamardashvili had a bit of a strange campaign during the 2025-26 season.

The Georgian probably got a lot more game time than he thought he would due to the number of injuries Alisson suffered but, since he failed to really leave his mark, fans have been questioning whether he's good enough to be the Brazilian's successor.

Throughout the season, there were times when glimpses of Mamardashvili's quality has shone through but, more often than not, he's been the weak link in Liverpool's team.

Thanks to this, he's been linked with several moves away from Anfield with Juventus among the teams vying for his transfer.

So, with these latest rumours about Suzuki coming to light, it now feels likely that Mamardashvili's future lies away from Liverpool.

Indeed, the 'keeper is only 25 years old so he still has plenty of time to develop but, since Alisson's contract is going to expire in June 2027, Liverpool must ensure they have a good enough back-up to take over from their number one just in case he chooses to leave.

Because, without a good 'keeper between the sticks, it doesn't really matter what the rest of your team is like as they could easily let you down at the last hurdle.
