But overall, looking at the bigger picture, there's an exciting generation coming through the ranks at Kirkby.

There are really high hopes about the future of Rio Ngumoha, who has enjoyed an exciting and promising first campaign in a Liverpool shirt.

Trey Nyoni continues to be regularly involved with the first team. Meanwhile, Jayden Danns is another promising youngster who has shone briefly at first team level.

In the academy, the likes of Joe Bradshaw, Kornel Misciur, Josh Sonni-Lambie and Alvin Ayman are one to keep an eye on.

And naturally, there's another promising generation coming through the ranks below them as well. Recently, we've introduced England U16 international Erik Farkas as well as Joshua Abe.

Now it's time to introduce Vincent Joseph.

The 15-year-old has been catching the eye at academy level this season. A striker, who can also play as a no.10 and out wide, Joseph has been at the club since U9 level, penning his first contract in the presence of Trent Alexander-Arnold almost seven years ago as per Liverpool's official website.

He captained Liverpool at Bayern Munich's U15 Elite Cup last year and has been regularly playing for the club's U16 team this season.

A goal-scorer, who can take players on one vs one and play comfortably with his back to goal, Joseph scored hat-tricks against the likes of Everton and Stockport already this season.

He's been catching the eye in youth tournaments across Europe, just take a look at this rabona assist he made in a tournament in Poland earlier this year in the video below.

And he was also part of the U15 squad that won the Pape indoor tournament in Germany earlier this year, scoring in the quarter-final, semi-final and final en route to victory.

He showed great character in the final in particular, missing a penalty against Union Berlin but then stepping up to take the young Reds' final penalty in the shoot-out and scoring the winner to secure the trophy. You can watch highlights of the game here.

Joseph comes from a footballing family. His older brother, Valentin, plays for Blackburn Rovers' U18 team and is also an exciting prospect with 14 goal contributions in 19 matches - close to a goal or assist every 92 minutes in the U18 Premier League this season - including three goal contributions in two matches against Liverpool.

Interestingly, Joseph is eligible to play for both England and Germany at international level. He was first called up for Germany's U15 team last year, and then also received a call-up by England.

At this stage, it seems like the Liverpool youngster has decided to represent Germany for now, having been regularly involved in their youth squads over the course of this season.

It's for that reason that Joseph has already made waves in Germany, where many have called him the next Jamal Musiala, who also similarly rejected England at international level.

Obviously, it's way too soon for Joseph to be put in the same bracket as someone of Musiala's ilk, but he's a name to keep an eye out on.

Next season, a debut for the U18s is definitely on the cards, with Liverpool never afraid of throwing in players in at the deep end.

As an example, out of current academy stars, the likes of Joe Bradshaw, Keyrol Figueroa and Josh Davidson all made their debuts for the U18s at a younger age than Joseph is right now.
