Liverpool failed to impress once again as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

The form of Arne Slot's men has fallen off a cliff with the Anfield outfit currently struggling to keep a hold on their Champions League place.

The organisation of the team is completely wrong and, in ever game that the team go into, none of the players seem to be on the same wavelength.

These facts, coupled with their inability to get the ball into the back of the net have caused many imperfections to make their way to the surface and have helped add to the tension among Liverpool's camp.

And now, it seems like that tension has made its way to the surface with a Liverpool duo spotted arguing during the middle of the clash.

Stephen Warnock spots Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk in a heated argument

Liverpool's defence has been one of the main reasons why they've suffered so much this season.

As mentioned, their performance levels have plummeted with Milos Kerkez and Ibrahima Konate among the Reds' worst players this season.

However, due to the number of injuries that the club have suffered, Slot has had to continue playing them and now, the cracks are starting to show.

This has been made more than clear by what Stephen Warnock saw happen during Liverpool's game against Chelsea.

"There's no pressure on the ball, there's no intensity, they look lost in the system as Chelsea come forward. Chelsea have dominated the ball," he said on BBC Radio Five Live.

"Chelsea players have got the run of Anfield at the moment. The line is really deep from Liverpool's point of view.

"Konate drops all the time, he's petrified of the ball in behind him. Him and Van Dijk are constantly arguing about the bravery of how to hold the line and Konate is not strong enough to do it."

Arne Slot has a lot of work to do with Liverpool in the summer

Change is almost certainly on the way to Liverpool, which is only going to cause even more disruption.

Although new players are needed, it feels like the Reds' first-team squad still have a lot of work to do themselves.

Hardly anyone has been at their best this term and, even though they won the Premier League title last term, it feels like that team no longer exists.

Most fans have been asking for Slot to be shown the exit door since the January transfer window but, since Fenway Sports Group haven't got rid of him yet and seemingly don't plan to, he needs to get his team back to their best himself.

If the Dutchman can't get the team working together in unison by the start of the 2026-27 Premier League season, they'll be in serious trouble.

Especially if they want to become one of the best teams in the world again.
