Rio Ngumoha has confirmed his future
Rio Ngumoha is one of the most talked-about players in Anfield at the moment.
On Friday night, it was revealed that Bayern Munich had made phone calls with the 17-year-old about his future and how he was their number one target to back-up Luis Diaz.
The Colombian joined the Bavarians from Liverpool in the 2025-26 window and has had a stellar season.
Anthony Gordon was their main target but, with him choosing to join Barcelona instead, they've seemingly turned their attention elsewhere.
Ngumoha was one of the best things to emerge from Arne Slot's second campaign in charge and, if Liverpool moved him on, some serious questions would need to be answered.
Rio Ngumoha has already shared his thoughts on Liverpool and where his future lies
With how poorly Cody Gakpo performed this season, it was only a matter of time before Ngumoha was given a chance by Slot.
Of course, with Slot's lack of desire to give youngsters much of a go in the first-team, it took a while for Liverpool fans to see the full potential of the youngster.
However, when he was entrusted to play, he became one of Liverpool's brightest sparks with his performances injecting some life into the Reds' fanbase.
Ngumoha's performances towards the end of the season were probably enough for him to get a starting role from the very first game under Andoni Iraola which is why a move away doesn't make much sense.
Seemingly, the young Englishman may feel the same way too after what he said about the club back in April.
"Liverpool for me are the biggest club in the world," he said to Sky Sports.
"To start so young and the manager and all the players having belief in me. I've just got to keep working hard."
Rio Ngumoha must stay as a Liverpool player at all costs
Now that Mohamed Salah is leaving Liverpool, their wingers are going to be a major problem area for them.
Players such as Yan Diomande, Michael Olise and Bazoumana Toure have all been linked but, if they lost Ngumoha, they'd be in even more trouble.
The young Englishman is one of the brightest prospects in the Premier League and, if he chose to pack his bags an exit, others may end up following.
Liverpool have always had some of the best progression from their academy to their first-team and, if they can't find a way to give that chance to Ngumoha then what does that say about the future of their youngsters?
Iraola will hopefully see what all of the Reds' fanbase see in him and give him the chance he deserves to prove his worth.
That is, especially since he's already said that Liverpool are the biggest club in the world.
