Report: Liverpool name asking price for defender ahead of January transfer window

Liverpool have named their asking price for centre-back Nathaniel Phillips, according to The Athletic, as cited by Watch_LFC's Twitter account.

Earlier this week, the 24-year-old made it clear that he would like to depart the club in January due to a lack of playing time.

With that being the case, the Reds have apparently placed a £15 million price tag on Phillips' head.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Liverpool signed Phillips from Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer back in the summer of 2016.

Since then, the centre-back has only gone on to make 24 appearances for the club's first-team.

Therefore, we would certainly take £15 million for Phillips. If the Englishman does depart Anfield in January, we would certainly wish him all the best going forward.

Phillips has always been respectful towards the club. Only time will tell if Liverpool can find a buyer for the defender.

On another note, we are unsure if the club plan on making any signings in January.
