A record-breaking Liverpool star is back playing his best football at last.

Over the last years, a lot of records have been broken at Anfield. This is a credit to both Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot. The two of them have done tremendously well.

Not only to achieve success as a team but to inspire individual brilliance. Already this season we have seen Rio Ngumoha become the youngest goal-scorer in Liverpool history becoming the first 16-year-old to score for the Reds.

It's a remarkable achievement for the young left-winger and it's literally never happened before. However, there have been previous occasions where we have witnessed a young teenager breaking through the ranks.

In fact not too recently, a 17-year-old showed similar promise when he broke through under Jurgen Klopp.

Kaide Gordon was signed from Derby County as one of the biggest prodigies in English football at the time. At 16-years-old, he was training with the club's first-team and mesmerising the senior players around him.

There was a lot of hype concerning Gordon and he became the club's youngest ever goal-scorer in the FA Cup when he netted at just 17 years and three months old back in January of 2022.

It's been a lot of seasons since then and so far Gordon has less than 10 appearances for Liverpool's first team. This is after a couple of disappointing loan spells which has seen him return to the club's U21 side.

He recently celebrated his 21st birthday as well and it looks like after the setbacks he endured following his record-breaking moment, Gordon is finally back playing his best football.

Last week he scored his first goal in almost an entire year at club level when he netted against Fulham's U21 side on Friday night.

He'd last scored back in October 6th 2024 against Hull City for Norwich City in the Championship, which was his only goal for the entirety of last season.

Gordon has suffered from some injuries and setbacks so far in his career. However, he's back to playing a key role for the U21s and he's been catching the eye with his performances.

There's still a lot of potential there and it's great to see him playing with confidence again at last.

We've been waiting to see him back like this for a long time. He last signed a contract extension with the club last year, so he's on a long-term contract and it's now up to him to work his way back to the first-team.

He's a right-winger so there is an open spot there, since Liverpool do not have a lot of depth in this position.
