An exciting star wants to join Liverpool and could arrive in the January window.

It's getting to that time of the year again. We are not far away from another transfer season. January is just around the corner and it will be here before you even know it.

For a side that heavily invested in the summer window it remains to be seen just how busy Liverpool are going to be. But do not rule out the Reds making moves.

Richard Hughes knows this project is not quite finished yet. The dynasty he is looking to build isn't perfect. We saw its flaws throughout the month of October with Liverpool struggling for form and struggling to find a system, shape and rhythm.

There are elements of the side that are missing still.

One of those is definitely the fact that Liverpool haven't replaced Luis Diaz. Right now the team lacks someone who thrives in one vs one situations and who can work well in tight spaces.

This is a shortcoming, especially against compact, low-lying defences. Liverpool need players who can beat defensive lines and create space in tight spaces by drawing defenders away.

You can have a great passer in the team to do that, or you can have an excellent dribbler, who is able to thrive in tight spaces and beat two or three defenders at a time.

One of the best players in the Premier League at doing this is Antoine Semenyo. This season he ranks fifth for successful take-ons (21), meanwhile last season he was third (69).

Previously it has been suggested that Liverpool are in a pole position to sign the Ghanian winger for £75m.

And according to a new report from Indy Kaila, it's not just Liverpool who want him. Semenyo also wants to join Liverpool.

This is great news for the club. He's one of the best wingers in the Premier League right now and he has a skill-set that can enhance and make Liverpool a better team.

It's also important to note that he's homegrown. This is an area where Liverpool are lacking options right now.

Marc Guehi could be another one who Liverpool are looking to sign.

Semenyo only extended his current contract at Bournemouth in the summer. Richard Hughes actually brought him to the Premier League though from Bristol City.

That connection could be the key to sealing the move for him. Whether that is in January or next summer remains to be seen.
