Next Rayan Cherki could be heading to Liverpool

Are Liverpool going to sign the next Rayan Cherki? They’re having a look and might just get a deal done.

Liverpool are certainly in the market for a no.10. Or at least, for a no.10-of-the-future. The plan is Florian Wirtz for now, but the club quite clearly wants to find either his future replacement or a massively talented backup.

Samuel Martinez will arrive next year, that deal's locked in, while the Reds have looked at other no.10s across the last year. Gonzalo Mora, the Mexican wonderkid, being one of those.

And now there's another, playing in South America. An Argentine no.10 is certainly something exciting, guaranteeing a high-level of hype.

Liverpool like Tomas Aranda

Liverpool are apparently in for Boca Juniors wonderkid Tomas Aranda. That's according to El Intransigente.

They report that the Reds are in the market for the playmaker and could make a move in 2027. And that's an interesting one.

Then things get very interesting: Rayan Cherki 2023/24, Florian Wirtz 2024/25 and Rayan Cherki 2025/26. There of the absolute best playmaker seasons in the last three years.

The feeling with Aranda, then, will be that his output numbers will improve and that if a club can get his final product in line, they'll have someone who operates at a very, very high level. Another Rayan Cherki? Very possibly, if he's developed correctly.

And Liverpool will certainly back themselves to do just that.
