Newcastle FINALLY send Liverpool the Alexander Isak bombshell they're waiting for
Liverpool have been waiting for the big message from Newcastle United in order to push through a move for Alexander Isak. Now they've finally got it.
Liverpool went into this transfer window with Alexander Isak at the top of their shortlist. In fact, he's been sitting there since the start of the year.
And as we enter the final few days, Isak is still very much at the top of that list. Liverpool are eager to sign him - but Newcastle United haven't made it easy.

Now, a lot of that is because Newcastle don't actually want to sell Isak. He's their star player and the one they'd like to build around.
However, the player feels he was promised a move this summer and that the Magpies haven't delivered on that. Isak wants out - specifically, to Liverpool.
A significant, record-breaking bid was rejected by the Reds, who haven't made a second one. That's been criticised in some quarters as a mind-game. Were Liverpool simply unsettling the player in order to force a transfer?
The Reds say that's not the case. They've actually just waiting from the signal from Newcastle to make another bid.
And now they've got it.
Newcastle send the Alexander Isak signal
The Athletic reported during the week that there was legitimate confusion at Anfield about the backlash from Newcastle. As far as they're concerned, it was just a bid for a player who wants to join them.
The reason a second offer hasn't arrived is because Liverpool came away from that first offer with the understanding that Newcastle will not sell Isak until they've signed a striker. That has not happened, with the Magpies trying and failing to sign nearly every centre-forward in Europe.
Thursday evening, though, saw a breakthrough. Fabrizio Romano is one of many confirming that a deal with Stuttgart for Nick Woltemade has been agreed for over €80m.
There's their striker, then. Newcastle are finally filling the Isak void and there's now hope that this is the bombshell update that can kickstart proper talks over the Swede.
Certainly, it's the moment Liverpool have been waiting for. Now it's time for all hands on deck as things could move very quickly.
